Hello,

My name is Tierra. I have created this blog for a class assignment. This is my first time creating a blog. I am a native of southern California (San Diego). I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing video and board games, sports, traveling, and living life! I work full-time and I am a part-time student. I was pursuing a Finance degree but I have recently decided to change my direction to the medical field. I love helping people and caring for the well being of people and I think that nursing will fall in line with my passion.

Part of this assignment is to post a list of eight Web communication and/or Web 2.0 tools that I use and/or would like to learn how to use. I am to also answer a couple of questions: How and why do you use these tools (or why do you want to learn to use them)? Do you use or plan to use any of them for university-related activities?

Web communication/Web 2.0 tools that I use and/or would like to learn how to use:

1. Wikipedia
2. Facebook
3. YouTube
4. Email
5. IM
6. Podcasting
7. Tagging
8. Blogging

From the list above I use Wikipedia, Facebook, Youtube, Email, and IM. I would like to learn more about Podcasting, Tagging, and blogging.

I use wikipedia to gain general knowledge about a certain topic or to look up information on a public figure. I enjoy reading and I like that with Wikipedia I can search anything and there is always information available. I use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family. I have a friend in Japan that I am easily able to communicate with thanks to Facebook. I use YouTube because I like to learn how to do different things. If I ever want to know how to do something YouTube is a great tool. For example different hair styles I might like to try, I can learn how to do them from YouTube. I utilize email every day for my job and I have my own personal email address. I also use email for the purpose of connecting with friends and family. It is a great tool to share documents and pictures. I use Facebook IM as well. It's great to be able to have instant side conversation with friends and family without the whole world in our conversation. I would like to learn more about Podcasting, Tagging, and blogging. I would like to learn more about those tool because they too can be beneficial for learning and expanding my knowledge. I do plan on using some of these tools for university-related activities.
